Hand wash only. Dishwasher heat and detergent damage the coating and can break the vacuum seal. Use warm soapy water and a bottle brush, then store it with the lid off.

Neither. It is stainless steel, so the microwave is out. Freezing is out because liquid expands as it freezes and that pressure can damage the vacuum wall. Ice cubes and cold water do the job without the risk.
